The train project is where you make a train in inventor and you make dimensioned drawings of each parts. You include tolerances and detailed, sectioned, broke, and auxiliary views.

I had to look at dimensions closely to see what to make. There is a lot of small complicated dimensions. I made the body first then went on from there.

My friend Santino says that it should be a different color. I chose steel blue and I guess to him it looks grey. I am not changing it though because I like the look of it.
Presentation
In this project I had lots of challenges. This was a hard project. There were lots of small dimensions and it can be hard to see where they are supposed to go. Sometimes inventor wouldn’t register certain things. I did learn how to do different kinds of dimensioned views like detailed and broken views. I learned little skills like shelling and filleting. I also learned how to make a train using dimensions. Also, I learned to make things with small dimensions. A sectioned view is used to show hidden things inside of an object that you wouldn't see normally. An auxiliary view shows an face that is not straight on and makes it straight on so you can dimension it. A broken view shows an object that is very long and makes it shorter so it can fit on dimensioning sheet. The symbols for holes are used because in inventor they use symbols to represent holes. Also the hole names are long and take up too much room so the symbols make it shorter. Tolerances are needed to have leeway. If a material isn't cut the exact perfect way, it can still be used. There are lots of different types of tolerances. This was a hard project but it was fun to use inventor and make real things. I like making cars and buildings and bridges so inventor will be fun for that kind of stuff. I want to be a civil engineer and this project represented a good part of that.
