The measurements were done to figure out if all the cubes are the same width so they will come together as a cube nicely. The measurements were done by using a dal caliper which is used to measure small objects like the wooden cubes.
The acceptable range of the cubes should be .745 in to .765 in. To calculate this you need to know the mean and the standard deviation you can get this by using a graphing calculator. To know if the measurements are in the range you must do data analysis using the empirical rule which means that within one standard deviation 68 % of the data should be within. 95% for two standard deviations and 99.7% for three. You get it by adding the standard dev. or subtracting it by how many deviations you need to find out.

The two constraints that are used are mating and flush. Mating is when two faces of and object come together. When it is flush a surface is smooth with another surface. The degree of freedom is how much an object can move on certain planes. If you mate something on the x y plane then it can only move on that plane,

I think the older the person the longer it takes to solve the cube. My friends in my engineering class are 14 and 15. My mom is and adult. If you are younger you might have more problem solving skills and it will be easier. Some people said that my cube design was hard to solve but most people said it was easy to solve. I would not change the design because its a lot of work to do all the inventor stuff and do the excel. Also, the testers said that it was easy exept for a couple of people.

Presentation
The long journey of making this puzzle cube has been fun and challenging. To do this project we had to learn two new programs, excel and inventor. Both can be challenging because its on the computer and technology can be crazy sometimes. When making the pieces in inventor its challenging because you need to have the right measurements and extrusions and cut outs. I thought that the assembly was the most challenging part because you need to use constraints and sometimes they wont work. It is just a pain when it like flips around and doesn't work. At this point you are pulling your hair out. Its fun though to use technology and learn cool modeling. I never thought I could make this wooden cube on the computer and make it look so good. When someone says they are using the design process to solve the problem at hand they are going through the steps of the design process to solve the problem. They will brainstorm and come up with ideas and make solutions. They will have to construct the solution and test it. They need to evaluate it and revise the solution and present it. I had to know the problem. I had to make sketches of possible solutions. I had to pick the ones that worked. I had to make it in real life and inventor. I had to test it on people and made sure it wouldn't fall apart and come together to make a cube. I have to present it on this Weebly. I am using the design process to solve this problem and I think I did pretty well at it. When doing the statistics we had to make a histogram which is basically a graph. I didn't like having to put all the measurements into excel but it needed to be done to make sure that the cubes would work. In conclusion, I had fun doing this challenging project and overcoming impeding obstacles.
